School Meals
Cooked meals are available at lunchtime. We offer healthy options, a vegetarian choice and a halal option, fresh fruit and salad daily.
To see more about our lunches and advice on creating healthy lunch boxes, have a look on School Lunch page.
Healthy Snacks
The school has achieved Level 3 of the Leeds Healthy School Standard. Therefore, at break time children are encouraged to eat fruit or vegetables as a snack. They are not permitted to bring crisps, sweets, etc into the playground before school.
Children are actively encouraged to drink water.
If you wish your child to bring something for a birthday to share with the class, please confine this to healthy options such as fruit or stickers rather than cake or sweets.
Learning About Healthy Food and Healthy Cooking
Children are taught about healthy eating options as part of science, in assemblies and Personal, Social & Health Education lessons. Click on the picture below to see an enlarged version of the Eatwell Guide we use.
In design technology we also cover cooking. Children will have opportunities each year to take part in small group cooking sessions to lean more about healthy ingredients and baking or cooking techniques.
