At Moor Allerton Hall Primary School we are committed to helping all children to grow and develop by equipping them with the knowledge, skills and understanding to be able to play an active and positive role in today’s diverse society.

We want to give our children the skills to:

- have good mental health

- develop positive relationships

- live healthy, safe, fulfilled and responsible lives

- make career choices and in manage their finances effectively

- have the ability to reflect on and clarify their own values and attitudes

MAHPs PSHCE Implementation

In the Foundation Stage, PSHCE is taught as an integral part of topic work and is embedded throughout the curriculum.

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

In Key Stage 1 and 2, PSHCE is taught through a clear and comprehensive scheme of work (You, Me, PSHCE and Mindmate) in line with the National Curriculum. In addition to Relationships Education, we also teach aspects of Relationships Education that is covered in our Science Curriculum.

PSHCE is taught through:

- six half termly units

- six mindmate lessons

- in all aspects of school life, at an age-appropriate level.

- cross curricular

- as part of our launch weeks in September

- Anti-bullying week

- weekly assemblies

- circle time

- visitors

By the time our children leave our school they will:

  • have a good understanding of how to stay safe, healthy and develop good relationships
  • have a strong self-awareness, interlinked with compassion of others
  • appreciate difference and diversity
  • be able to understand and manage their emotions
  • be able to look after their mental health and well-being
  • be able to develop positive, healthy relationship with their peers both now and in the future.
  • have respect for themselves and others.
