Communication between School and Parents

We have Parents’ Evening twice a year, in Autumn and Spring terms. These are opportunities for you to discuss your child’s progress with the class teacher. You will also receive a termly family link information sheet on what the class will be learning as well as a written report at the end of the school year.

At least once every half term there is a school newsletter to keep you up to date with events. Other leaflets or letters are given out when special events are arranged. We also send out regular reminders using our texting service. We also use our website to keep you up to date with what is happening in school.

We hold curriculum meetings with parents from time to time and host courses for parents run by local colleges on subjects such as reading strategies, children’s behaviour and English as a second language. We always need help on class outings and with classroom activities. Please let your child’s teacher know if you are able to help. Mrs Aston is one of our Learning Mentors and her role is to liasise with parents. She is always available to talk with parents about concerns.

Please provide us with an up-to-date telephone number where we can contact you or a nominated adult if your child becomes ill. This avoids unnecessary distress to the child at school. We will also send you messages by text so need a number you use regularly. Remember to notify us if you change your home or work number.
