Opening of the city’s resourced provision for deaf and hearing impaired children

On Wednesday 20th January 2016 the new DAHIT resource provision was officially opened.

Many visitors gathered together, families, friends and local councillors to celebrate the new provision with sparkling apple juice and lots of cake.

                                          Councillor Yeadon with the children

Two deaf pupils cut a ribbon and the signing choir performed. Visitors watched a video the deaf pupils made about what the provision means to them. Councillor Yeadon made a speech and even signed her name using BSL.

Everyone had a great time and we were even on the news!
